How to Transform Ebay Fashion Finds with DIY

One of my favorite ways to be creative and cost effective is by finding inspiration in current fashion trends but making them myself with a little bit of DIY action. One super fun trend right now is fluffy faux fur/maribou trim heels, but instead of spending $80+ on a pair we'll be making them from some budget friendly Ebay sourced shoes and craft store materials.

As you can see above these brand new shoes have lots of flirty fur details but are a little over my budget for a trend, so I decided to make my own with some vintage clear heels (90-00s) that I scored on Ebay. First I searched key words like "90s clear platform heels", "clear heels", "clubkid clear heels", "transparent heels", etc... to find a pair of inexpensive Cinderella shoes that will soon be transformed into a fun furry statement sandal.

The shoes above have a similar style to the ones I used for this DIY. I usually try to be under $25 for the shoes so that I can be under $35 when all the materials are bought. This way I'm getting a revived pair of on trend heels without breaking the bank. Also shipping can be expensive due to the shoe's weight so make sure to factor that in when bidding.

Once you score your Ebay heels go to a craft store like Micahel's or Joann Fabrics and buy some E6000 glue and a few yards of maribou trim in your favorite color. You can also use Ebay to find your furry trim.

Take one shoe and add a generous row of E6000 glue to the bottom of the plastic upper. Wait a couple minutes for the glue to get tacky and place your feather trim on top and hold it for a couple minutes. Repeat this process row by row until you've covered the front of the shoe. Let it dry for 24-48 hours and you have your own pair of on trend fluffy sandals at a fraction of the cost.

These are the finished shoes I made from Club Zone brand heels I bought on Ebay. Hope you'll start using Ebay as a place to DIY your own fashion forward pieces this spring.
