How to Score Fashion Forward Vintage Shoes on an Ebay Budget

I love the revival of vintage styles, but one thing I loathe is the out-of-reach prices that high end boutiques slap on a pair of platform sandals I'm drooling over. Instead of dealing with the middleman it's best to go straight to the source at Ebay. As long as you follow these simple search and bid steps you'll be reliving your favorite fashion era in no time.

First instead of looking for brands by name or using on trend fashion terms use more general descriptions like "platform sneaker" or "chunky sandal" in order to find the silhouette you're looking for. I also change my search o the top right to "lowest price + shipping" so that I can find the best deals and watch and wait to bid.

When you find your new solemate your style instincts will make you want to bid immediately but just make sure to closely watch your item and bid your highest bid within the last seconds. This won't give anyone else time to outbid you, and you won't become a victim of overbidding if you give a max bid with several day left in the auction.

Pictured is one of my favorite shoes I scored at Ebay. They're a pair of 90s vintage Luichiny platform sandals with velcro straps. They're the perfect summer shoe for pairing with cutoffs and a crop top. I scored them for only $5 (plus $9 shipping - shoes can be expensive to ship due to their weight) and I've seen them at Vintage Etsy shops for $80-150.

So the next time you're looking for a new pair of shoes, check out ebay for the vintage pair of your dreams.

Happy Bidding!

Styled with cutoffs, a crushed velvet crop top and flannel top.
