lifeSTYLE: Illinois Lottery #APMusicSeries - Vans Warped Tour

Getting warped on a sunny summer Saturday afternoon courtesy of the Illinois Lottery's Anything's Possible Music Series; Life couldn't rock more. A view from the top thanks to a rad VIP deck and a sea of fellow festival friends made this year's Vans Warped Tour a concert to remember.

I decided to mesh around with the transparent trend since temps were high and the sun was shining. Pairing one of my fave "hands-off" vegan leather embellished Dimpepiece Designs tees with these futuristic Nasty Gal Collection shorts and some quintessential flatform boots by TBA for a fun&flirty festival look.

While I loved the energy of the crowd, sometimes it's nice to get away and the VIP #APMusicSeries Deck was the perfect place to take in the music on my own personal platform. The main stage had lots of rad rock performances heavy on guitar, drums and vocals for a spot to wave around with the crowd or sit and relax at the back.

Another reason I loved hanging out at Warped Tour was walking around the First Midwest Amphitheater and checking out the food, drinks, shops and artist signings. Lots of local artisans had set up shop around the event and it was the perfect way to support local business and find some sweet little accessories for my next fest.

Checking out the smaller stages, like the Beatport Stage, gave me an opportunity to switch off of rock and on to other genres like rap and electronic. Most of the artists were local talent so it was an easy way to immerse myself in new music throughout the day.

While casually walking around I found myself at a Battle of the Bands with performances by Phosphene and Face the King. It was my favorite spot since I could listen up close and personal. I also met Phosphene's photographer, Julie, and she was super sweet! You can check out her work, here. All in all it was a great day for listening to music and enjoying a mixed beverage (the selection there was impressive :D). I can't wait to attend next year, thanks Illinois Lottery and the #APMusicSeries.

P.S. Check out the #APMusicSeries hashtag on twitter for more reviews and events.
