FANtastic Fashion: Shoe Point Conversion

While sometimes I can bearly stand being a Bears fan I'll always support my team and one way to feel good, even when your team is down (but not out!) is to wear some FANtastic fashion. NFL style for women has become the norm over the past couple years with many new fashion forward lines but sports approved soles still have limited variations. To improve upon the slim shoe selection I decided to make my own Bear Down platforms that feature all the bear necessities a member of the 4th phase could ask for.

The idea behind these heels came from seeing a lot of clear heeled shoes with glitter, confetti and even doll heads inside of transparent Jeffrey Campbell wedges. I loved the effect and set out to make my own version and like fate I came across the YRU Quozmo heel for under $40 at Karmaloop's discounted sister-site, PLNDR. I then bought some mini Chicago bears helmets that I screwed into the sole and I also added a hand-painted field and a couple mini foam footballs to really complete the look. I finally reglued the soles together and clamped them for 24 hours and wore them to the November 10th game versus the Lions. While we suffered a devastating loss my cool custom shoes held up and were a hit amongst my fellow fans.

And these shoes can be worn to the game or with other pieces as a fun and sporty statement piece. Below are a few of my favorite ways to style them:

I picked up these Voodoo Girl Football Print leggings at PLNDR at the beginning of the season. They're easy to wear with a jersey or t-shirt, but I love wearing it with my All Sport Couture top.

The Wildkat is my favorite style from ASC because it hugs your body in all the right places and the mesh sleeves add a fashion forward detail.

A little leather mini skirt can take your sporty separates to the next level. Add a mini helmet to your top knot and you're ready for game-day!

The open back of this Chicago Bears top is another surprise detail that scores some serious style points.

I love that these signature shoes can turn an everyday outfit into a winning ensemble. Definitely a play-of-the-week.

Bear Down in my fan favorite separates like pvc pants for a slick shine that matches the upper of these oxfords.

Hopefully we can win it for Ditka tonight! And don't forget to send me your game day outfit with the hashtag #BearDownBabes! Let's Go Bears!
