Today's So Shoe Me is the Devian Wedge by Jeffrey Campbell, $125, available at Ashbury Skies (Take 30% off with the code "MANIC" this Cyber Monday). I'm hopelessly addicted to the hot holographic trend we're seeing just about everywhere. It's probably due to the fact I grew up in the late 90s/early 00s and can reminisce over my sick&shiny accessories I wore the hell out of as a budding style stalker. The iridescent upper offers a slick rainbow shine for a futuristic metallic touch this holiday season. The crystal clear wedge is modern, on trend and makes for the perfect Cinderella moment. The best part about this heel is that it can be dressed down with jeans or amp up your party dress this NYE and the 4" wedge offers hours of comfort. Pair these pointed pumps with a crushed velvet mini dress and oversized distressed denim jacket for a cool mix of sexy meets androgyny.

Don't Commit a Fashion Fowl: Winning Thanksgiving Style Tips

Fashion Fowl or winning style? There can be a fine line between looking divine or defeated on the biggest turkey binge of the year. But fear not, I've put together some super simple ways to look terrific on T-Day while still feeling comfy and cozy as the holiday feast settles in your waistline Thursday night. Gobble up the looks below for a stand-out Thanksgiving style.

Feel festive in decadent mixed prints that juxtapose the opulence of baroque details with the cozy comforts of overized fits and tailored bottoms. Lean lace trousers add a classic and clean-up touch while the chunky baroque print knit keeps you prepared for the turkey binge ahead of you. It's the perfect glammed-up version of a sweater and jeans for your family's Thanksgiving feast.

1) Stella Baroque Knit by Nasty Gal, $68, available at Nasty Gal
2) Panther Lace Pants by Nasty Gal, $168, available at Nasty Gal
3) Chantel Pumps by Pour La Victoire, $229, available at Lori's Shoes
4) Colorblock Wool Coat by Nasty Gal, $88, available at Nasty Gal

Here's the dilemma: You want to look cute for your man, while remaining classy for his fam. Look no further than a high neck a-line dress to solver your fashion crisis. The classic shape is perfect for making a lasting impression on his folks while the luxe painted leather gives it the modern feel you desire. Add a classic cardigan, opaque tights and shining sequin pumps for the perfect mix-and-match pieces that will get you through  the entire holiday season.

1) Leather Painted Dress by Topshop, $250, available at Topshop
2) Mustard Yellow Cropped Cardigan by Burberry, $290, available at My Theresa
3) 80 Denier Burgundy Tights by Miss Selfridge, $11, available at Miss Selfridge

An oversized knit with an asymmetric hem adds interest so it's a little more than your basic tunic. Add some boho beaded moccasins, fair isle sweater leggings and a whimsical headdress for a casual yet luxe look perfect for feasting with friends.

WEARabouts: Art+Science Presents Art And Soul

Last Saturday I had the opportunity to attend  the Art and Soul event at Double Door (one of the many perks of being a Chicago Blogger Network member) featuring fashion, art and music all while supporting NADS (National Association for Down Syndrome). The show was presented by the innovative Chicago salon, Art+Science, who provided all the makeup and hair looks for the diverse and exciting four part fashion show. Elizabeth Hurley, Color Director at Art+Science, was king enough to offer some insight into the work that went on behind the scenes and the philanthropic work that her salon continues to provide.

Behind the scenes at Art+Science Salon as the Models get their coifs perfected for the fashion show.

Co-Owners Paul Wilson and David Raccuglia (founder of American Crew) bought the Art+Science salon fourteen years ago. Not only have Paul and David created a forward-thinking environment with leading hair stylists and colorists but the two have also continued to support charitable causes (for example, Art+Science lead the support for Habitat for Humanity after Katrina). After Paul and his wife Theresa were informed that their son, Emmit Kyoshi, was born with Down Syndrome they soon discovered the support and community at the NADS foundation. To give back to the foundation that delivered them so much support Art+Science hosted Art and Soul with proceeds going to this worthy foundation.

The silent auction with items from local businesses raised funds for NADS.

Michelle Anderson, self-advocate for NADS gave an inspiring presentation.

The night began with a silent auction, drinks and art which was followed by a four-part fashion show and live music by Purple Apple and Scott Lucas And The Married Men.

Examples of the original artwork that was up for Auction at Art and Soul.

The Fashion Show:

Part I: American Crew - Duality, fluid/hard, combination, disconnect, convergence.

Part II: Ally - Design Driven, urban, solid, sharp, short, clean. Sponsored by Shu Uemura Art of Hair and Bumble and Bumble.

Part III: MensDept. - Classic, groomed, masculine, suited.

Part IV: Abstract - Bold, texture, silhouette, shape, statement, contrast. Products by Shu Eumura Art of Hair and Bumble and Bumble.

The Rest:

Color Director, Susan Hurley gives us some insight on the evening and the creative direction behind the runway.

My look for the night. A mix of graphics with pops of plum worked well for the dark and edgy venue.

Thanks to Art+Science Salon and Chicago Blogger Network for allowing me to cover this event - I had a blast. And remember you can still make a donation to NADS by simply visiting their website. Have a happy holiday week!
