Top Ten Margiela For H&M Must-Haves

I'm not usually the girl waiting in the massive line with most of its occupants from Crazy Town, but after peeking through the 100+ pieces from the Margiela x H&M collection (Find the lookbook at Refinery29) I'm ready to go to battle for my favorite pieces. From the oversized yet tailored separates, twofer fusion dresses and perfectly deconstructed pieces there's a signature must-have for everyone in this highly anticipated collaboration. And even though I would happily walk away with anything from the collection below are my top ten picks to purchase.

1) Oversized Jeans, $69.50
The boyfriend jean on steroids this oversized yet tailored piece is perfectly unproportional. Making your basics bold and modern these signature jeans are a major must-have and the price is pretty great too. Pair these jeans with fitted tucked-in tops to create an oversized style that still flatters your figure.

2) Trump L'oeil Bodysuit, $39.95
A trick of the eye makes this slimming bodysuit appear more risque than it actually is. The perfect layering piece this one-piece can go under slim trousers and an open tuxedo jacket but I especially love it when paired simply with the oversized trousers. This is definitely a piece that will revolve around your wardrobe season after season.

3) Duvet Coat, $349
On frigidly cold winter days all I want to do is wrap myself in my comforter all day. Well, Margiela For HM has made this an option with their Duvet Coat. Yeah, it's a splurge but for a winter jacket it's priced right and the comfort factor makes this a prime Christmas Wish List contender.

4) Biker Jacket, $249
My favorite jacket of the collection is this deconstructed luxe leather piece that will pretty much make your wardrobe this fall and winter. Pair it with last year's basics and you've instantly updated your wardrobe and the exposed seaming and cutout sleeves add modern interest beyond the $249 price tag.
5) Silk Top, $149
This patchwork silk crop top has all the best retro elements for a 70s chic detail. The long flowing sleeves add whimsy and fun while the mixed prints are perfectly paired together for an on trend element. Pair these with the matching silk skirt or a pair of high waisted bell bottoms for a cool retro moment.

6) Fusion of Two Dresses, $199
Women play many roles and I love that this dress playfully mixes our powerful corporate side and delicate femininity in this fusion dress. The simple rope belt literally ties the two styles together creating a minimalist design that will become your go-to signature dress for special occasions. Pair this dress with the clear heel pumps in black or nude.

7) Leather Drainpipe Pants, $349
If you've been searching for the perfect leather legging look no further than the sleek and slick Drainpipe Pants. One of the pieces from the Margiela For H&M collection that could be mistaken for the real deal Maison Martin Margiela collection it's not everyday you find a signature pair of leather pants and under five figures.

8) Hitched Up Dress, $199
This deliciously draped dress in a rich radiant red becomes the perfect piece for layering separate or wearing as is. The mix of matte and shine add interest without taking away from its minimalist design. The perfect pop of color for the (usually) drab winter color palettes.

9) Glove Clutch, $149
I've never been a bag lady but when something this unique (and cool) comes around it's pretty easy to become obsessed with getting my hands on it. The leather glove handle is a fun little detail that makes a major impact that can easily go from day to night. And if you're the crafty type why not replicate this piece with a simple leather clutch and long silk gloves (think the ones you wore at prom) for an accessory that's just about as good as the real deal.

10) Plexi Wedge Boot, $399
Of course I had to place a shoe in my top ten list and this tall caramel coated boot is my favorite from the collection. It perfectly pair with just about anything from the collection or your current wardrobe and the crystal clear wedge adds an unexpected modern detail.

So what's your favorite piece from the Margiela For H&M Collection? And will you be braving the crowds to try and snatch up your favorites?!?! Leave me a comment below.
