lifeSTYLE: Fashion Focus 2011

I had the privilege of attending Fashion Focus this year, and for those unaware it's a week of celebrating Chicago's fashion scene by shopping locally, attending runway shows and networking with the rest of Chicago's brightest. Being the a week  solely dedicated to Chicago fashion you know I had to dress my best. And even 40+ mph winds and rain would not stop me or my peers from dressing in our favorite heels and signature separates.

Check out my lifeStyle for Fashion Focus 2011:

While I'm never one to wear flats the UNIF Hellraisers are too good to resist. With allover spikes reminiscent of the Louboutin Rollerball but with edgier sharper spikes I had to create an outfit around these signature flats. A leather tee, leggings and camel blazer made a great textural style but when paired with a Dimepiece Designs striped collar it made this menswear look original yet effortless.

The following night took showcased a leopard look in feminine lace. This Rodarte x Target shift dress has always been one of my favorite go to pieces when I want to look professional, fun and stylish. I paired this short style with opaque black tights and luxe pony hair booties which add a signature polish. With multiple textures and bold gunmetal accessories I finished off this polished look with rich burgundy lipstick and a high ponytail.

I had to find a way to wear my Sass and Bide spiked top even in crisp fall temperatures. Since it has a removable harness and my friend had a closet to raid I paired it with a tie dyed Calvin Klein blazer that seemed to be made for this piece. To brighten up the look I added some red hot leather pants and 3D faceted Lo Res pumps from United Nude. All in all it was clearly a winning look that made a stylish statement at the Vert Couture 2011 show.

Now that it's over I can't wait for Fashion Focus 2012, only eleven more months!
